About Lauren

Lauren Mick is an artist from Richmond, Virginia that is currently attending Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. Her work is mainly concentrated in ceramics and metal smithing, with influences ranging from tattoo iconography to the entropic state and flow of nature. Her ceramic art explores the visual flow of organic forms and the relationship between negative space and influence between the form and its environment. She has participated in select group exhibitions throughout the state of Virginia, showing a variety of mediums including mixed media 2-dimensional work, paintings, drawings, prints, metals, and ceramics. Lauren is currently the president of the Longwood Student Art Association, and will be showing upcoming work in the Longwood Senior Show at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts.
